Peeping Out
This is scary--therefore 'tis to be embraced! Doing this youngpersons thing. Blogging. Actually our intent is to simply describe our travels with some illustrative photos to friends, relatives and to whomever else could conceivably care about our meanderings and our opinions about them. Perhaps a website would be the better/best format but, having grown up with nib pens, not complicated computers, a site is beyond our ken at the moment
Though we have travelled about most of the world, this is our first loudmouthed foray. So we start with our latest trip and--theoretically--move bravely forward.
5/16-5.30/2009 San Francisco (Jeanette McDonald warbling--ok about 3 of you will get that). Actually, the first time Bob and I together transversed the Golden Gate bridge in Reuel's Porsche, 25 or so years ago, we played a tape of Judy Garland singing "San Francisco" in the style of the (early screen partner of gay operetta heartthrob Nelson Eddy) diva Jeanette McDonald. We were stirred and shaken. To be (almost) young, campy and celebrating The Gay Mecca! Now, same guys, different time, different mecca.
